Barbara's Extended Family Session
Moving to another state can be a daunting experience, as it often involves leaving behind family and friends. The prospect of starting over in a new place, with unfamiliar surroundings and people, can be overwhelming. Saying goodbye to loved ones can be especially difficult, as it may mean leaving behind a support system that has been built over years or even decades. The distance can make it harder to maintain close relationships, and the sense of isolation can be difficult to overcome.
Fortunately, my husband was not going to let us sit around and be isolated. He made it a point to connect with others in Colorado Springs and while doing so he crossed paths with Barbara. Barbara has a daughter about the same age as our daughter and is successful elopement photographer. She’s all about equal rights for all and that is truly beautiful! She really does care so deeply about the LBGTQ community! Seriously, if you are engaged and considering eloping reach out to Barbara, she’s phenomenal!
After several months I can say that it has been a pleasure getting to know Barbara better and becoming friends. Having a friend that cares so much for others is a blessing in itself but the fact that through our friendship she has helped nudge me back into photography and reawakened my love for, it is amazing.
I am honored that she trusted me with capturing her extended family portraits. These sessions are an incredible opportunity to bring together family members who may not see each other often due to distance or busy schedules, to create lasting memories and celebrate the love and connections between family members.
When we were in the discussion phase she let me know how important these photos were to her since she has lost two brothers in the past. As we go through life, we often take our loved ones for granted, thinking that they will always be there. However, life is unpredictable, and we never know what tomorrow holds. Cherishing our family and the moments we share with them is so important. These sessions are not just about capturing beautiful photos but also about celebrating the love and relationships we have with each other.
